Happyness

Last weekend I saw this amazing movie 'The pursuit of happyness' with a 'y' in its title! What a movie it was! It moved me several times. Each time 'Chris' (played by Will Smith) faced a situation, it was amazing to see how he triumphed out of it. The film teaches us a lot through their intense scenes.

Right from the beginning they have shown this main character (Chris) struggling to have a hand-to-mouth existence. It was heart breaking to see his own wife leave him in times of crisis when he is unable to pay the rent and other bills.

Chris met his father only when he was twenty eight and he decided that he is going to bring up his son and be with him. He sees to it that his wife does not take his son away from him and assures her that he will be fine with the father.

Even in dire straits, Chris ensures that his son gets proper sleep and food - a roof over his head. It was really choking to see how they spend a night in the restroom of a railway station as there is no where to go and the way he lured him in the washroom by creating a drama that they have reached the dinasour world and that they need to safely go into a cave to save themselves from the dinasours around. Movie reminded me of 'Life is Beautiful' where the father does not make the son believe what they are going through is torture and shows it that everything happening to them is a big game.

At regular intervals when Chris had to pay for his senior as he did not have change or pay the parking for a car when he had to rush to finish his work were brilliantly shot scenes. Will Smith did full justice to the character he potrayed and his son was brilliant in the movie.

The best part of the film was the ending when he is overcome by his emotions and does not even know how to react to the news of his success. A truly inspiring movie and a must-watch for people who appreciate qualities of perseverence and hard work.

If its going on in cinemas and you better check this one out!
